Change of Plans

After my initial post dumping out a whole bunch of information I did not come back for another post.  From November until February I didn't come back because things were going fine.  Nothing exciting to report I was adding more and more miles to my week both walking and running.  I was dropping weight at a steady pace and I was managing the aches and pains pretty well.  There was not much to right about because I was just following the plan and things were moving along.

Then in Late February things ground to a halt as I encountered a sever about of pain in my heel and ankle I believe caused by my Achilles tendon.  That got so bad that soon I was not even able to get in a daily walk, and the running was over.

It took several months of start and stop rehab to get it back to nearly pain free.  Hitting such a wall, and having it last so long was a hard pill to take.  By the end of March I was putting the weight back on.  By the end of May I was right back were I started.

So what now:

So here I am slowing down and starting over.  This time I am going to try and write daily to keep myself tuned in, even if something goes wrong.  July and August where pretty good months for walking and I was starting to get my focus back.

The May run is off.  I am not sure if it was to many miles (running and walking) that let to the Achilles or something else but I have decided that even with a 16 month lead up that plan is not going to work.  Maybe in a year or two if I have established a good strong base we can try again.  I was just to optimistic that I could create a plan that would take me from near zero all the way to my goal without injury.  I think if I am at a good solid base of 50 - 60% of the target goal, then a plan can handle the work to get to the finish line.

So Today's blog is just to bring us to where I am.  In my next blog I will outline the details of my new plan.  How I came up with it and how I plan to monitor it.  Then I hope to produce a daily "Process Review" that will detail what is going on.  I also may post some detailed workout information or nutrition thoughts.  I am also going to be posting some notes on Bible studies.

Speak Truth Seek Transformation is about all the Transformations that we face in life.  Spiritual growth, Fitness, Leadership development, Parenting ... all the things that I know I need help and growth in.  I hope to start to touch on many of them.
